How to Create a Cut-Away Tutu Top Plate & Bodice Plate Using Our Silver Net Plates
What you will need:
A silver or gold net tutu & bodice plate, trim, tracing paper, tape, scissors, pins, ruler & pencil.
The sample shown is silver net over rose pink.
Lay tracing paper over top plate, taping additional pieces together as needed until plate is covered and draw design on tracing paper. Pin in place.
Machine stitch trim around drawn lines. After completely sewing on trim carefully tear away tracing paper.
Trim around edges of plate with scissors.
Silver & gold top plates have a top layer of metallic net over a layer of plain colored net. To create a transparent area (cut-away) carefully cut out the desired layer of metallic net leaving the under layer of colored net. This area will appear transparent when laid on the tutu.
Lay tracing paper over the bodice plate and draw out design, pinning in place. Stitch trim around drawn lines.
Carefully tear away tracing paper and trim around edges of plate with scissors.
